About us

The Urban Technology Lab is a newly founded lab within the Department of People and Technology (Institut for Mennesker og Teknologi) at Roskilde University, Denmark.
Since the summer of 2021 we have worked towards building an urban and spatial oriented biometrics lab, where the goal is to create insight and competences – for ourselves, our coworkers and our students – on the sensory, physical and emotional influences of the environment on people. This is done by combining quantitative and qualitative methods generated through technologies such as eye tracking glasses, Galvanic Skin Response (GSR), Electrocardiography (ECG), and Virtual Reality (VR).
The lab consists of Associate professor in Psychology, Hans H. K. Sønderstrup-Andersen; Associate professor in Anthropology, Mikkel Bille; Associate professor in Geography, Thomas Theis Nielsen; Special consultant, Esbern Holmes; and Scientific assistant, Helene Skov Breum.
